9 Breakfast & Brunch Restaurants in atl: How I do it friday-sunday

It’s no secret I love breakfast, its my favorite meal time. My mom use to make me a pretty special breakfast every Sunday morning of eggs, potatoes and onions, sausage or bacon, or flour tortillas, platanos, refried beans plus her homemade papaya smoothie. For special special occasions we went to Denny’s, & that’s where I feel in love with French toast.

Fast forward to college, our breakfast was a spread that I literally woke up early and excited for, as a matter of fact, the Cafeteria was across the street from my dorm. That's were I discovered my love for grits. Then I started working at IHOP and ever since then I’ve been head over heels literally. I love breakfast!! Working at IHOP, I had everything; pancakes, French toast, waffles, biscuits, omelets, skillets, crepes, bacon, ham, sausages, grits, potatoes, so good!!

Once I moved to ATL, I spent many mornings checking out new breakfast spots and now I official Brunch pretty much every Sunday, my personal idea of self-care. So here’s a list of 9 restaurants I love for breakfast and brunch for Friday through Sunday.

Friday

*Finally its official the weekend! Start your morning off with something light, yet filling and flavorful to help you get through the day while your sending out those last minute emails or booking your next client.

Juliana’s Crepes - I really love crepes and if you do or want to try something new, you should definitely check them out especially before it gets crowded. The space is kinda cozy because it use to be a house but super charming and there's outside seating and neighborhood scenery, located right down the street from Krog St. Market. The menu has a lot of options with limited substitutions. You can chose from their Hungarian Style Savory crepes or Sweet crepes. Paired with coffee, tea or a fruit juice, I really enjoy this place!

Highland Bakery - This spot has an amazing creative menu with so much breakfast goodies. The restaurant has a very nice welcoming space and opens early, at 7am, with a separate bakery area and outside seating. I love that while I was there, they played the almost the whole Selena Album. I was singing every song, and the food was yummy. I had a lot of fun also because the staff was pretty interactive. This is great spot to have light but filling breakfast, a cup of coffee, a muffin or bagel and enjoy the good vibes and a good book.

Atlanta Breakfast Club - Peach Cobbler French Toast… Honestly this is a must try in ATL. Super yummy menu that is pretty consistent, Ive been about 5 times. I always go on Sunday and its always crowded so please add your name on the waitlist through Yelp before getting there. Food does not take long to come out. It’s BLACK OWNED and I love the RnB/Soul music that plays inside. They have a pretty active instagram and the staff is also very engaging. Right across from the Georgia Aquarium, theres also plenty of street parking.

Saturday

*Saturday Brunch should be a an amazing time with great food, lively music and bottomless drinks !!

BQE

Restaurant & Bar - Hands downs the livest Saturday brunch in ATL that I have been to. What I really love about this Saturday brunch is that it gets packed, people are always having a really great time. Theres bottomless mimosas and sangria’s, a super yummy menu to match. YOU MUST RSVP. I know they say walk in welcomes but when I walked in they were talking about 1 hour + wait. So just to keep things running smoothly, RSVP. The instagram is always up to date and as of recently they have gone through renovations, new menu and drinks.

Sweet Auburn - This was a last minute brunch, meaning we just randomly walked in and was able to be seated pretty quickly. The DJ was just getting started but people where laughing and dancing already. I love the menu at Sweet Auburn which has a seafood twist on yummy classics like Shrimp Philly cheesecake, Shrimp and Waffles, so good!! Sweet Auburn also had bottomless mimosa, I had soo much to drink. I literally passed out in the booth lol!

55th & Park- I really like the concept and vibe of 55th & Park, Its like New York meets Chic and Sporty bar vibes. You will never miss a game! The menu is filled with classics, I mostly order the French toast with extra powder sugar and chicken sausage, its always good. Bottomless mimosa and peach bellinis are a must of course. The staff looks good, are very friendly and professional. Being that it is in the city Parking is not free but theres parking lots very close by and after you can walked it off at the park across the street.

Sunday

*Brunch on Sunday is always reserved for family time, or maybe a cute date. Drinking doesn’t start till 12:30pm

Serpas True Food- I was very impressed with Brunch at Serpas. The location is kinda hidden away in Old Fourth Ward but once you find it you will be pleasantly surprised, you have your option of street parking or valet. The restaurant itself was very welcoming, huge and modern space. We were seated fairly quickly. The service was also great. They have a nice versatile menu with something for every taste buds. Everything was portioned well, and shareable. There's an outside lounge area, and a big bar. Definitely a good time.

Secreto

Kitchen & Bar - The new location in Brookhaven is so good! The staff is friendly and attentive, the space is warm, with contemporary designs. I love the menu especially the fried green tomatoes and bang bang shrimp. I love that the menu is really a great combination of breakfast and lunch. There’s no bottomless mimosa’s but you can do pitchers. The outside seating is also a little small oasis. I highly recommend.

Two Urban Licks - I love the space at Two Urban Licks! I always get excited walking in. It’s very modern, warehouse vibes with super high ceilings and comtemporary designs. Every Space is strategically designed to create a different experience from hosting a large family gathering to an intimate date. To be honest just reading the menu makes me hungry, its so delicious!! Two Urban Licks, has valet parking, outside seating, pretty creative menu that was really intimately curated by the Executive Chef Micheal Bertozzi and an exciting beverage menu. Another special thing about Two Urban Licks is that it is literally on the Beltline so you can enjoy the scenery or walk the Beltline before and after your meal.
